A (new) tryst with natural logging

A callback to the past

September 30, 2023

I started "blogging" in 2011 with this post.

At the time, this website did not exist - I put it up on Wordpress and wrote about whatever I felt like.

Reading that (and other posts of the time) recently made me nostalgic for an era where I felt free enough to record my thoughts on issues both trivial and important, with a freedom I've started to feel has become increasingly lost as we've all grown up in the era of Twitter and Instagram.

It also made me proud that this exists; that thoughts, life and ideas I had ten years ago are visible to me via a portal. That feelings – and jokes – my friends wrote in comments are still preserved and visible to me and them. A true representation of the power of the open web.

I also felt that ten years hence, I probably want to feel the same way about life currently.

With that in mind, I decided to do two things:

  1. Start posting on this blog again, and more often
  2. Start making short videos of life and posting them here, since the medium of recording must evolve. In that spirit, here's a little log of the last week, with a clickbait-y title to go (although that did not help achieve viral popularity on YouTube):
